Each aircraft is unique. Two aircraft that seem identical on paper may differ in value by thousands of dollars. An accurate valuation depends on a thorough review of the aircraft records, current condition, and analysis of past and current maintenance along with precise market knowledge. In the process of an aircraft appraisal the following points are taken into consideration: year of manufacture, airframe total time, engine time (new or overhauled), propeller, avionics, additional equipment such as floats, stol kit, or other modifications. When it comes to the interior and exterior, if we don’t see the aircraft we give no value, otherwise we appraise according to its condition. Is a physical inspection of the aircraft necessary for an accurate appraisal? Usually not, if the party requesting the appraisal is able to provide the appraiser with adequate information regarding aircraft equipment, maintenance and inspection status, operational history, etc., it is usually sufficient to provide an accurate valuation. If no visual inspection is done in the evaluation process, no value will be added for interior and exterior conditions. The desktop appraisal is a valuation performed without a physical inspection. The presentation format of our desktop appraisal comprises seven (7) sections:
